NEW YORK (Reuters) - Men with erectile dysfunction may not have to plan for sex as far in advance anymore after Vivus Inc won U.S. approval for avanafil, its faster acting rival to Viagra. Avanafil, which will be sold under the brand name Stendra, is the first new drug in the category in a decade. Abbott to sell Apricus erectile dysfunction drug in Canada

(Reuters) - Apricus Biosciences Inc said it licensed the Canadian marketing rights of its Erectile Dysfunction drug to Abbott Laboratories for about $16 million, sending its shares up 10 percent. Apricus' drug Vitaros is approved in Canada and the company has also filed for marketing approval of the drug in the United States. NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Most studies looking at whether Erectile Dysfunction drugs can help men overcome premature ejaculation problems agree that the pills make a difference, but much of the research is flawed, according to a new review of the evidence. NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Men who have the Allergic Skin ConditionEczema may have a higher risk of Erectile Dysfunction than other men, a new study finds. The study, of nearly 4,000 Taiwanese men with ED, hints at a connection between eczema and Impotence. And the researchers suggest that doctors "be more attentive to sexual complaints" from men with eczema -- known medically as atopic dermatitis. But an allergy expert not involved in the study said that while the findings are "interesting," there are too many limitations to know whether eczema actually raises the risk of ED. ... read more..
