Meet Toni, a strong supporter of smoke-free patios.Toni has worked in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years and as a result, developed lung disease from second-hand smoke exposure. In the late 90’s, his health scare prompted him to open up the first smoke-free coffee shop in the ByWard Market.Toni now owns two smoke-free restaurants, “Firkin and Knight” and “Firkin and Flyer”.  He was one of the restaurant owners that made his patios smoke-free voluntarily, before the regulations came into effect.  Toni is confident that Ottawa’s new smoke-free patio regulations will create a better and healthier environment for those who enjoy dining outdoors.
