Completely Empty Stomach-Peanut Butter-Snacks
You should run after you eat, but not too soon after. Like say you have a small snack, maybe 30 minutes. The bigger meal, the longer to wait. I used to wait about an hour to run after I’d eaten breakfast. Maybe some oatmeal with fruit and Peanut Butter if you like it, a piece of toast with pb and a banana, a power-up smoothie, some fruit and peanut butter. Just mix things up! In my Index there’s a post-workout and snacks page (I need to rename it) that also has a few pre-workout food idea in there. read more..
Kind Bars-Larabar
Hello (: Congrats on recovering! I’m happy for you! Maybe, hopefully, these websites will work for you! You can buy from The Better Health Store - Larabar or the larabarstore! They are in dollars here and I’m not sure if the larabar store has a UK based website so you don’t have to convert money, but probably not. If these websites do allow shipping to the UK, then the money should just automatically covert when you buy it. If not, just google “buy larabars online” or something along those lines (: If none of that works out, I’m sure they have something similar there that will work for you! read more..

do you know of any ways I could get my hair to grow a little faster? yours is so long and beautiful but you probably didn't have to do anything for it
Thank you! Yes, I do know how! Actually, that’s exactly what I did. Nothing specifically. Let me tell you a story first. Up until the summer after 11th grade (2010), I used heat on my hair daily, I rarely used anything to protect it, I washed it 2-3 times a week, I rarely ate healthy. And yet, I always wondered why it grew a half an inch a year, if that. I wanted it to grow, and it never would. I actually had long hair at the start of high school and someone chopped it off, and this is the first time my hair has been so long. So anyway, It was summer break, I was growing out my shoulder length (sat on them - there’s a photo in the link below), bright red hair. I stopped using heat completely and it began to grow a bit. By the time I graduated, my hair had grown a few inches or so but was still pretty short. Then I started to eat healthy, exercise, and since my hair was getting longer, so I began to braid it before bed. Also, I never brush it while wet. You’ll read all about that in the link. I don’t explain the braiding but I do that so it doesn’t tangle in my sleep and there are no knots breaking and ripping my hair out in the morning. I have used the blow dryer a few times in the last 2 years, but haven’t touched my straightener. So since I started growing it out, it’s grown about 9 inches, and I’ve gotten it trimmed every time it needs to be. SO… That story seemed a bit unnecessary, but hopefully convincing enough to show you that simply taking care of yourself goes a long way. If you skipped it, that’s okay, it was boring. Here is the link to my original post about hair growth from last year. I will also reblog it. read more..

Healthy Lifestyle-Healthy Weight
That just happens sometimes. You just have to keep getting back up and trying again. You make your destiny. If you choose to give up, your destiny will lead you on that path and one day you really might regret it. If you choose to say “I can do this”, then you WILL. You need to find a balance with this lifestyle. Think about why this happened. Were you just getting unmotivated? Were you not treating yourself enough? Really figure out what happened and work on resolving that. You really need to have a positive mindset about this. Otherwise, it won’t happen. I really believe that you can do it. You have to find that strength, keep building on it, keep going, and you will get there. It can be tough, but it’s not supposed to be easy. But you will feel good about it and it will be rewarding. Think about how amazing you’ll feel once you have not only reached a healthy weight, but you are really into a healthy lifestyle. You will feel good inside and out. Think about all of the benefits. Write them down, post it up on the wall!I know you can do it and I want you to know that you can, too. And when you do, I want you to come to me and tell me that you did it. And I will tell you “See, I knew you could do it and I am so proud of you.” Okay? I think support is really important, and I am here for you 100%!Just remember… what I think is really important… treat yourself. I think that’s why a lot of people have slip-ups. If you want something that isn’t healthy, and you really want it, eat it. Eat half of it, eat 2 bites of it. Find your balance with your eating, find your intuitive eating, find your exercise balance. Find your overall healthy lifestyle and life balance, and you will succeed. (: read more..

Upper Body-Shoulders-Muscle
Yeah, a bit but not as much as actually working out has…. which is still not very much. Right now I’m in a funk and not really doing any exercise (ugh :/), but when I did yoga regularly, I worked more on my flexibility than anything and would work out for the muscle. read more..

Would yoga help strengthen my muscles, like in my back and arms? Or is that just Pilates?
Yes, it will. Especially if you are doing poses that focus more on those area’s. Chaturanga and plank are two more simple, easy poses that will help you to build strength in those area’s. Then once you gain enough strength, you can move on to other poses… crow for example. If you want to, (girl) push ups and tricep dips will also help. read more..

Controversial Topic-Dietary Needs
I read that eggs are a pretty controversial topic as far as health goes. I can’t really say for sure. I think it all depends on your dietary needs and how active you are. Also, whether you only eat the white’s or not. I’m just going to shoot a number in the dark and say 10. Though to me personally, it seems like a lot… I think it’s a good number. If you eat 2 a day for 5 days, and say you work out those 5 days… it’d work out. It also depends on whether you eat the whole egg or just the whites but I assume the whole egg since you didn’t state otherwise. Hope this helps.Too many eggs risky?

Weight Resistance
Yes, of course you can! You don’t NEED the gym, but I find that working out in a place like that, around people who are working out, is more motivational. All you really need to lose weight and live healthy is yourself. You can lose 50 pounds by the middle of June if you really try. A healthy diet, cardio, and weight resistance (your workout videos) will do just that. Make sure you are in between a healthy calorie range. The more muscle you gain, the more you’ll burn. And make sure you are drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, things like that effect your metabolism a lot. You can do it (: read more..
I'm 5'7 ish, 17 years old "I weigh 117 lbs is that good? My parents keep telling me I need to lose weight .
Yes, that is good. When I was 15-16 and 5’7” (only 3 cm under 5’8” now), I weighed around that (bounced between 115-118), and my body was still thin. Don’t listen to your parents. That is so rude of them to say. If you are not comfortable with your body, all you need is to eat healthier and do some exercise. That will help tone your body out nicely. There is nothing to worry about though. You are in a good, healthy weight range. Next time they tell you something like that, speak up and tell them that it’s rude and your body is perfect the way it is. read more..

Thrift Store-Essentials
The blue pants? Thank you! The brand is called Basic Essentials. They are actually just a pair of sweats that I picked up from a thrift store a while back. I wore them so often that they are all ugly now with a crotch hole haha. They’re also not really turquoise, they’re actually more teal (here) so they probably don’t seem as cute hah. read more..

Black Beans-Ingredients-Olive Oil-Garlic-Vegan
Yes, olive oil is Vegan. Black beans from a can are vegan unless otherwise stated in the Ingredients. They are plain but they have added salt and some of them have other things in them. Always check the ingredients because some canned (refried) beans have lard in them. Garlic… that depends on how much you want to add and what you are making. Taste test it. Maybe mince half of a clove and add it into the dish and if it’s not enough, add more. That only works with some dishes though. And you can read about the health benefits of quinoa here. It’s a good alternative to rice and regular spaghetti noodles and pasta. For me, they are a lot less bloat-y. read more..

Health Knowledge-Sun Salutations-B12 Deficiency
I’m not too sure, but I don’t think so. If you are warming up with yoga before getting more into the poses, you should do sun salutations. In the book I suggested, towards the end of the book it gives you series of poses to do for specific things (like for runners) so you could always go off of that if you wanted. read more..
me too! I was vegan for over a year, and the doctor suggested I start eating eggs again as my hair was thinning an awful lot, and I had a B12 deficiency. So I considered just going back vegetarian, but I cannot bring myself to consume dairy, I just find the thought of it so icky. I'm glad I've found someone else that shares my vego/dairy free diet haha yay! (my health/fitness blog is kellie-the-ve
Awe, that sucks. You could always just start taking b12 supplements. I think it takes a lot of health knowledge to go completely animal-free and be healthy. I’m glad to know someone else is like that too! (: Sometimes it seems so weird… Like when people ask about … I don’t just want to say I am without adding the details haha. read more..

Healthy Grocery List-Fruits And Veggies-Grocery Shopping-Personal Taste-Healthy Foods
It all depends on your personal taste in healthy foods. I can give you a list of things I like because those are the only things that come to mind at the moment. I’m not too good with a variety of food that aren’t Fruits And Veggies since I eat a ton of those. The drinks that I get are almond milk, ensure nutritional drinks, cranberry-raspberry juice and orange carrot mango juice. Though, some juices have added sugar so if you can find some that doesn’t have it added, go for that one. Orange juice is really good as well, especially home made. Whole grain or whole wheat bread, beans (black or pinto not refried), wheat thins (a good snack especially in place for chips), healthy cereals, greek yogurt, peanut butter, trail mix (no or less salt), oatmeal, quinoa (can be bought in a few forms), morning start or boca patties if you are vegetarian or want to eat less meat… Things like that. Here’s a few websites with healthy foods you can pick from and write down to buy as well. Healthy Lifestyle-Healthier Eating-Vegetables
If you’re looking to make healthier eating and lifestyle choices, read here. As far as making them more appealing, there will just be certain Vegetables that you favor and will like being made certain ways. Vegetables aren’t my favorite either because I didn’t grow up with much of them. My salads consisted of nothing but lettuce and Italian dressing because I hated anything else in it, and I began to change that when I began to change to a healthy lifestyle less than a year ago. So, you just need to find what works for you. Simple changes like putting spinach on sandwiches or having spinach salads with fruits and veggies in them will help. If you like Stir-fry or if you kind of like it and can maybe get used to it, that is something good you can have tons of veggies in. You just need to experiment. The more healthy foods you eat, the more appealing it will all be to you. If you experiment more with vegetables, you’ll find out which ones are your favorites and how you like them cooked. read more..
